Last summer I took my first airplane flight from Yantai to Xi'an. Five minutes after I boarded the plane and was led to my seat, the plane took off. Then from the public address system came the sweet voice of a stewardess to welcome us aboard. At the same time magazines and newspapers were distributed and coffee was offered. When I felt cold, I was given a blanket. When I felt airsick, I was given a paper bag. It was really nice.

I sat by a window and could enjoy a splendid view outside. Far away I could see a lot of clouds like cotton, which were very beautiful. I felt quite excited.

About an hour later, we made a perfect landing. What an unforgettable experience it is!

William H. Gates

One possible version:

Devotion — Key to Success

Devotion, as may be well-known to all, is a valuable personality of Bill Gates. We can see that the rapid development of his company couldn't be achieved without his devotion after he left Harvard.

In our daily life, especially school life, we need to devote ourselves to studies as well. However, to our parents' worry, many of us do not behave well as we are expected. Some of us play games in the Internet café and some even send messages on mobile phones in class. We waste a lot of time. Instead of spending time doing these things, we should devote our time and energy to learning knowledge so that we will be successful in the future.

Chinese Traditional Medicine

One possible version:

Although we can't agree with each other on this topic in the discussion, I totally stand by the western medicine for the following reasons.

First, western medicine or pills are easy to take, and you usually only need a glass of water. However, you have to bear a lot of trouble of boiling TCM. Second, the medical effect of the western medicine is comparatively better and faster than TCM, which can save much time to study. Third, some TCM is limited to certain places and available in certain seasons, so it's not convenient to buy and take.

In conclusion, I choose western medicine, for it's convenient and fast.

China's Changes in the Eyes of a Foreigner

One possible version:

Now that we all have been in campus from kindergarten to high school, I feel like sharing the changes in campus I've witnessed with you. When I was in junior middle school, our classroom was poorly equipped. The only teaching aid was a piece of chalk. To our joy, the teachers in our high school have so many pieces of equipment which they can turn to, such as computers, projectors, video-audio rooms, and so on. In this way, the classes become more lively and acceptable.

How to Make Emoticons

One possible version:

Emoticons, symbols made up of keyboard characters, are often used to make an online conversation better. To make emoticons, firstly, you should decide what emotion you want to express and then make the emoticon's eyes. Secondly, make a nose. You can also ignore this step, because noses are not always needed to express an emotion. Thirdly, you should choose a mouth. The mouth is the most expressive part of an emoticon—it can express happiness, sadness, excitement, uncertainty, shock, etc. Last, if you like to make your emoticon more expressive, you can add extras to it. Different letters, numbers and symbols can all be used to express different emotions as long as you are creative!

Being the second largest country in the world, Canada has many touristic destinations to offer such as Ottawa, Vancouver, Montreal, Quebec, Kingston and Toronto among others. Of course it's impossible to see all Canadian appealing features in just one trip, therefore we recommend you to plan at least two weeks holidays. Here you can practice outdoor sports like hiking, skiing, rafting and fishing and at the same time enjoy its beautiful countryside.

This multicultural country has two official languages which are English and French. As we already know, English is one of the world's important idioms, however, in Canada it is necessary to speak both languages English and French. If you don't have any idea of how to learn French, you should find out French language schools where professors or a private French tutor can teach you the basics of this language. You will see how easy it's to learn having the support of a private teacher.
