Chinas Beidou Navigation2 Satellite3 System has been used in more than half of the worlds countries and places.

中国北斗导航卫星系统已在全球一半以上的国家和地区使用。

Yang Changfeng， who is also a national political4 adviser， said that the system will soon used for navigation and positioning5 services to every user in “any corner of the planet”.

国家政治顾问杨长风（音）表示，该系统很快将为“地球任何角落”的每一位用户提供导航和定位服务。

“This year the Beidou network will be finished. The last satellite in it has been taken to the Xichang Satellite Launch Center. It will be launched6 in June，” he said.

杨长风说：“今年北斗网络将建成。其中最后一颗卫星已被运送到西昌卫星发射中心，将于6月份发射。”

Beidou is the countrys largest satellite system and one of the four global networks， along with the United States GPS， Russias GLONASS and the European Unions Galileo.

北斗是中国最大的卫星系统，也是全球四大网络之一，与美国的全球定位系统（GPS）、俄罗斯的全球导航卫星系统（GLONASS）和欧盟的伽利略系统（Galileo）并列。

Beidou is used in many public services in China and the world， such as transportation7， agriculture8 and disaster relief9.

北斗在中國和全球的许多公共服务领域都得到广泛应用，包括交通、农业和救灾。

About 70% of mobile phones in China are used with Beidou services， Yang said.

杨长风指出，在中国注册的手机中，约有70%与北斗服务兼容。

The nation began research and development of its own space-based navigation and positioning system in 1994， to reduce its reliance10 on foreign networks.

1994年，中国开始研发自己的天基导航定位系统，以减少对外国网络的依赖。

In 2000， China launched the first two Beidou satellites to build an experimental11 system. In 2003 and 2007， another two experimental satellites were launched to join the trial12 run.

2000年，中国发射了首批两颗北斗卫星，建立了实验系统。在2003年和2007年，又发射了两颗实验卫星参与试运行。

Beidous first mass-produced13 satellite， which was also the first in its second-generation14 series， was launched in April 2007. The first two of Beidous third-genera-tion satellites were launched in November 2017.

北斗第一颗量产卫星于2007年4月发射升空，这也是北斗二代系列中的第一颗。北斗第三代卫星的前两颗于2017年11月发射升空。
