Stephen Hawking is a British scientist. He is one of theruost faruous scientists in the world.

He is an expert（专家） on black holes（黑洞 ）. He studied（研究） the beginning and the end of the universe（宇宙）.

Hawking was born and lived in England. His father was amedical scientist（医学家） .

When Hawking was 10. he wanted to be a scientist. Hewas clever. He and his friends used some old parts （零件 ） ofmachines to build a computer.

He was also curious（好奇的）aboutthe universe. He liked reading books aboutthe universe. When he was 17， he went to Oxford University（牛津大学）.

But unfortunately （不幸地 ）， when he was 21. he had a badillness（疾病）. He could not ruove or talk. But his illness did notstop him from discovering（发现 ） the secrets of the universe. Fromthen on， he sat in a wheelchair（轮椅） with a computer by his side（旁边 ） . He controlled（控制 ） the computer to "speak". He keptstudying the universe. Hawking died in 2018. But he ' ll live foreverin our heart.

They have strong gravity（重力）.They pull（拉）things in the universe toward 'therfi. Blackholes swallow things up（吞下去）.Even（甚至）light（光）cannot.come out of a black hole.

Hawking and his dau'ghter Lucy Hawking wrote the book George'.s CosmicTreasure Hunt（《乔治的宇宙寻宝记》）..

In this'book， Gaorge and his friend Annie have adventures （冒险 ） in 'space and look for aliens（外星人）.

Don't look for aliens！

Are there really aliens in space？ Stephen Hawkingthought so. He said that people should not look for aliens.He thought they are dangerous.

On a British TV prograru， Hawking said，“It is possible（可能的） that there are aliens in space. They might live in big ships. They have used up（用光了）all the resources（资源）from their home planets（星球）.”

He thought such aliens might get resources from Earth and then go away. They may bring trouble（麻烦）to Earth.
