1. When is your birthday， Linda？

琳达，你什么时候过生日？

My birthday is on May 2nd.

我的生日是5月2日。

（1）birthday意思是“生日”。当祝贺别人的生日时，我们常说：Happy birthday to you！意为“祝你生日快乐！”外国人在过生日时经常会举行一个birthday party（生日聚会）来庆祝生日。如：

—Today is my birthday.

今天是我的生日。

—Happy birthday to you！

祝你生日快乐！

（2）“When is ones birthday？”是询问某人生日是何时的句型。当别人问：When is your birthday？时，我们可以回答：My birthday is...，也可以回答：Its...。当日期具体到某一天时要用介词on，on在此句型中可以省略;若只是说在哪个月，或哪一年时，介词用in。如：

My birthday is （on） October tenth.

我的生日在10月10号。

Tree Planting Day is in March.

植树节在3月。

注意：when除了可以用来对年、月、日提问外，还能用于对具体的时间点提问，此时用介词at。如：

—when is your birthday party， Anna？

安娜，你的生日聚会在什么时候？

—My birthday party is at 5 oclock this afternoon.

我的生日聚会在今天下午五点钟。

2. When is your fathers birthday？

你爸爸什么时候过生日？

fathers是名词father的所有格形式，意思是“爸爸的……”。名词所有格是由“名词 + s”构成的，译为“……的”。其具体用法如下：

（1）名词单数加s，若名词单数以s结尾，则所有格可加s，也可直接加。
