It was the day that Farmer Duff waited for all year： It was Family Sunday！The kids came into the farm as soon as the doors opened. They fed the goats. They rode the horses. They watched the pigs.

这一天，农民达夫已经等了整整一年了。这天就是周末家庭日！孩子们门一开就来到农场，他们喂山羊，骑马，看小猪。

Everyone left， then all the animals went to sleep. Everything was quite， and sudden...Boom！

所有人都离开了，然后动物们去睡觉。一切都很安静，突然……嘣！

Something jumped from the ceiling2 into the hay3. The dog started barking4 loudly and the chickens ran into each other. Then， the little one started moving. It had the little jacket and a very tall top hat.

有个东西从天花板掉到了干草堆里面。狗狗们开始大声吠叫，小鸡们互相乱撞。然后，有个小家伙在动，它穿着夹克，戴着一顶高高的帽子。

“Please excuse me. Give me just a minute and Ill try to fix5 it，” said the little one.

“打扰了，请给我一分钟，我会努力修好它。”这个小家伙说。

Then， he took an old wooden spoon out from his jacket. He waved6 it at the ceiling and said， “Ba La Ba La！” And with that， the ceiling was fixed， just like new.

然后，它從夹克里面取出一根旧的木勺，朝天花板一挥，嘴里念着“巴拉巴拉！”，然后天花板就修好了，像新的一样。

“Where did you come from？” asked the sheep.

“你从哪里来？”绵羊问道。

“How did you do that！” said the dog.

“你是怎么做到的？”小狗问。

“I am from France and I lived in a zoo.”

“我来自法国，我住在一个动物园里。”

About this time， the blue bird came to see what had made all the noise. She sat high up on the windows and watched below. “Thats all well and good，” said the bird. “But who are you？”

这时候，一只蓝色的鸟飞过来看是什么发出的声音，它坐在窗子的高处朝下面看。“那真的是太好了，”这只鸟说，“但是你是谁呢？”

“My name is Ferret，” he said.

“我的名字叫费瑞德。”它说。

“I have arrived here for a long time and I take a kind of food for you， the greatest you will eat！”

“我花了很长时间才到达这里，我还为你们带来了一种食物，那会是你们吃过的最美味的食物。”

And with a wave of his spoon over the large hat， he shouted， “Ba La Ba La！”

它把勺子朝大帽子上一挥，嘴里喊道：“巴拉巴拉！”

There was a kind of food in the hat that smelled delicious to every animal. The animals came up to the hat one by one. “I dont think its OK to eat from this Ferrets hat，” said the blue bird. “We should know what is in that food before we eat it.” But no one listened.

帽子里面有一种食物，闻着很香，足以吸引所有动物。小动物们一个接一个来到帽子面前。那只蓝色的鸟说：“我认为我们直接吃费瑞德帽子里面的食物不太好，我们应该在吃之前先弄明白里面是什么。”但是没有人听。

“Its delicious！” said the horse， pigs， and the dog.

“太美味了！”小狗、小马还有小猪们异口同声地说。

“The best Ive ever had. Its good！” cried the dog. “Can you make us some more？”

“这是我吃过最美味的食物，太好吃了！”小狗喊道，“你能再给我一些吗？”

“Of course， I can！Ill bring more as soon as I can. But I need to take checks7 or cash.”

“当然，我可以的！我可以给你更多食物，但是你需要给我支票或者现金。
