Along with the development of city construction， the city environment has more demands on the artists which requiring them to bring more quality sculptures fitting for the local cultures， regional features and artistic tones. The current status is not satisfactory. Many cities blindly build up face-saving projects， erect similar sculptures， and intervene in artists creations. As an environmental artist， one shall embrace the development speed of Chinese society and explore， enhance and perfect ones culture in many aspects. Sculptures and the environment can be integrated harmoniously. At present， many artists proposed a slogan for environment art design： to design artworks filled with human feelings and optimized by human intelligence. There are two important factors for a successful case： first， a mutual respect between the client and the artist； second， a full decision-making power for the artist. People can change and create the environment， and vice versa.

中國的城市雕塑发展到今天，不再是艺术家对环境有过多的要求，而是环境对艺术家的选择与接纳问题，特别是随着城市建设进程，公共空间景观设计的一些基础的、硬件性的东西逐步完善和基本到位，势必就要给艺术家提出更高的要求。诸如关注人文精神、地域特色、艺术格调的氛围，创造特定环境的场所等高质量、高品味的环境等内容。艺术家在这一感召下，活动舞台更加宽广，活动的内容更加丰富，更易于创作出发自心灵上又合乎环境意识需要的个性化艺术品。

城市雕塑发展到现在，还有许多雕塑与环境的结合状况难以让人满意，其中有城市景观规划建设问题，也有政府行政部门及业主组织运作问题，也有雕塑家自身的环境意识等问题，而这些问题，随着城市建设的向前推移，也凸显出来。

环境空间舞台化。目前，许多城市为了迅速提升自身形象及文化品味，搞了许多“面子”工程，占地庞大的西式广场，让人望而却步的景观大道，布景式断章取义欧陆风的步行街，为了显示文化艺术品味而配置了相应水准的城市雕塑作品，使城市雕塑成为一座口号标语式的广告牌，或仅仅处于真空补白的作用，丧失了城市雕塑应有的生命活力和内涵，造就了一种快餐文化或文化拼盘的表面热闹、实质浅薄的舞台化景观。可想而知，人们处在这一环境空间中生活工作，只能像“演戏”，缺乏深层的对人的关怀和以人为本的宗旨。……
