高考英语书面表达中的告知信通常是告诉或通知某个英美或其他说英语国家的人士某一项重要信息，如活动安排、上课计划、方案简介、招聘信息、征文报名等。在高考真题中，告知信中要告知的内容均属于积极向上的正能量信息。此类信件要求考生将写作要点言简意赅、清晰准确地传递给对方。在信中应先告知写信的目的，在主体段落中要把要点信息在紧扣主题的前题下进行恰当地拓展，然后准确又合理地告知对方，在尾段中礼貌地表达自己的期盼，以达到交际目的。

一、常用句式

1. 告知信首段：写信目的。

（1）Im writing to inform you that...

（2）Its my great pleasure to provide you with...

（3）I feel much honored to tell you something about...

（4）Im more than delighted to give you some information concerning ...

（5）Knowing that you have a keen interest in...， Im delighted to inform you that ...

2. 主体段落：告知具体内容（以告知活动安排为例）。

（1）活动的时间地点

It is going to be held +地點+时间

It is scheduled to be shown +地点+时间

As scheduled， it will kick off +地点+时间

Im wondering if you could turn up +地点+时间

Would you please be so kind as to arrive +地点+时间

（2）活动目的和内容

The theme of the campaign is...

The activity is aimed to promote...

The exhibition is to be shown for the purpose of promoting...

There is a wide range of .... on display， including ...

（3）活动的意义

增加与要点相关的状语或状语从句

By tradition， the hosts prefer their guests to arrive early and give some help when the family are preparing the dinner.

It will be better if the gifts are made by yourself.

列举具体事例

Besides， what is strongly suggested is bringing some gifts， like red wine or cakes.

People often consider that putting food onto othersplates is polite， especially the eldersand the guests.

增加which非限制性定语从句

Also dont feel surprised at the conversation at the table， which is really common and traditional in China.
