Tutankhamun(图坦卡蒙) was a king in Egypt(埃及) more than 3,300 years ago. He became king at the age of 9. So people gave him the nickname(昵称) “the Boy King”. He died(死) when he was only 19 years old.
Tutankhamun is one of the most famous kings. Why is he so famous? Because there were so many treasures(宝藏) in his tomb(坟墓). There were about 3,500 treasures. There were gold boats, jewels(珠宝),toys and even a gold bed. When he died, people put a gold mask(面具) over his face. Then they put him into a gold coffin(棺材). Today, many of his treasures are in the Egyptian Museum(埃及博物馆) in Cairo(开罗),Egypt.
What did Tutankhamun look like? Scientists(科学家) made an image(图像) of him. The king was short. He had buck teeth(龅牙). There were some problems with his left foot. So he walked with a walking stick(拐杖).
A curse(诅咒) also made the king famous. It was on his tomb. It was said(据说) that people would die after they opened his tomb. A team(組) of archaeologists(考古学家) first opened the tomb. Only one of them lived to an old age. But scientists(科学家) say the curse is not true. Do you believe in the curse?
