猪的趣事

Pigs snuggle1 close to one another and prefer to sleep nose to nose. They dream, much as humans do. In the natural environment, pigs spend hours playing, sunbathing, and exploring.

猪相互依偎,喜欢鼻子对着鼻子睡觉。和人类一样,它们也会做梦。在自然环境中,猪会花几个小时玩耍、日光浴和探险。

Pigs communicate constantly with one another.

猪之间经常交流。

Newborn piglets learn to run to their mothers voices and to recognize their own names. Mother pigs sing to their young while nursing.

刚出生的小猪就能学着向母亲的声音跑去,学会辨认自己的名字。母猪一边哺乳一边唱歌给小猪听。

Pigs appear to have a good sense of direction and have found their way home over great distances.

猪似乎有很好的方向感,它们从很远的地方都找得到回家的路。

Pigs do not “eat like pigs” or “pig out”. They prefer to eat slowly and enjoy their food.

猪不会“像猪一样吃”或者“大吃特吃”,它们喜欢慢慢吃,细细品味食物。

Pigs are clean animals. If given enough space, they will be careful not to soil the area where they sleep or eat. Pigs dont “sweat like pigs”; they are actually unable to sweat. They like to bathe in water or mud to keep cool, and they actually prefer water to mud.

豬是爱干净的动物。如果有足够的空间,它们会小心翼翼地不弄脏睡觉或吃饭的地方。猪不会“像猪一样流汗”,实际上它们不会流汗。它们喜欢用水或泥来洗澡以保持凉爽,事实上它们更喜欢用水而不是泥。

Pigs are very smart. They are curious2 and insightful3 animals who are widely accepted as being smarter than dogs, and even some primates4.

猪非常聪明。它们是充满好奇心和洞察力的动物,众所周知,它们比狗狗甚至一些灵长类动物更聪明。

Pigs are very peaceful animals, rarely showing aggression5. The exception, as with many animals, is when a mother (sow) with her young offspring is provoked6 or threatened7.

猪是非常温和的动物,很少表现出攻击性。与许多动物一样,除非是母猪和它的后代被激怒或受到威胁的时候。

Wild pigs play an important role in managing ecosystems8 and keeping biodiversity9. By rooting, and thus disturbing the soil, they create areas for new plant colonisation10. They also spread fruit plants by dispersing11 their seeds.

野猪在生态系统管理和保持生物多样性方面发挥着重要作用。它们翻拱松土,为新的植物群落创造了空间。它们还通过散播种子来播种果树。

Pigs have a good sense of smell. The pig is the last of the 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac. The pig is seen to represent fortune, honesty and happiness.

猪的嗅觉非常灵敏。猪是中国十二生肖中的最后一种动物。猪代表着财富、诚实和幸福。

Humans have 9,000 taste buds. Pigs have 15,000!

人类有9000个味蕾。猪有15000个!

An adult pig can run up to 11 miles per hour.

一头成年猪最快可以跑到每小时11英里。

Pigs live on every continent except for Antarctica.

除了南极洲以外,每个大洲都有猪生存。

Pigs have 4 toes on each foot but they only walk on 2.

猪每只脚有4个脚趾,但它们只能用2个脚趾走路。

China has the most domesticated12 pigs in the world!The United States is 2nd.

中国驯养的猪是全世界最多的!美国排名第二。

Pigs are easily trained to walk on a belt, use a litter box and do tricks.

很容易训练猪系上皮带遛、使用垃圾箱和耍杂技。

In Denmark there twice as many pigs as people!

在丹麦,猪的数量是人的两倍!
