Italians are actually really loud when they speak， but not because they are angry or deaf， its just the social norm.

Everyone talks with their hands， at least a little bit. But Italians really use their hands a lot when they talk. Even if they try to not move their hands while talking， they just can not help themselves.

Italian gestures18 are an independent language. It should have its own dictionary. Hand gestures help Italians emphasize19 feelings and expressions that words cannot fully describe. Sometimes Italians can even talk with just body language without speaking out a word.
