Abstract Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era is an important achievement of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Taking the course of accomplishments in morality and introduction to law as an example, the incorporation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era into teaching of ideological and political theories in colleges and universities is discussed in this article from the three following aspects of why should be incorporated, what to be incorporated, and how to incorporate to promote the spread of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era among the student groups.

1 Introduction

The report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China put forward the concept of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and established the guiding position of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in the new era. For ideological and political education workers in colleges and universities, consciously incorporating Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era into the entire teaching process of ideological and political theories to continuously improve college students’ road self-confidence, theoretical self-confidence, institutional self-confidence, cultural self-confidence and to constantly enhance college students’ political identity, theoretical identity, institutional identity and cultural identity is the glorious mission entrusted to us by the times.

2 Significance of incorporation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era into teaching of ideological and political theories in colleges and universities

2.1Helpingstrengthentheparty’sleadershipovertheideologicalworkofcollegesanduniversitiesSince the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core has attached great importance to the ideological work of colleges and universities. General Secretary Xi Jinping clearly pointed out at the 23rd National Party Building Work Conference that it is necessary to "strengthen thought leadership and firmly grasp the leadership of ideological work in colleges and universities". Ideological work is related to the major political direction issues of what flag to take and what road to take. College and university period is the key period for the formation of ideological identity of young students. How effective the ideological work in colleges and universities is is related to the future and destiny of the development of socialism with Chinese characteristics[1]. At present, in order to strengthen thought leadership, the key is to incorporate Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era into the specific teaching process of ideological and political theories in colleges and universities, explain to the students the historical achievements and historical changes that have taken place in the cause of the party and the state since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China by using persuasive and infectious case materials, and teach and guide students that these historical achievements and historical changes are realized under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, so as to inspire and motivate college students’ determination and confidence to unswervingly follow the Party and enhance their ideological discernment and political judgement[2].

TheConstitutionoftheCommunistPartyofChinaadopted by the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China established the guiding position of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, emphasizing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era is a guide for the whole party and the people of the whole country to strive for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and must be adhered to and continuously developed for a long time. Ideological and political theory work of colleges and universities is related to the fundamental question of what kind of people to be cultivated, how to cultivate and who people are cultivated for. 2.3HelpingenhancetheimmunityofcollegestudentstowrongthinkingAfter the end of the Cold War, how to evaluate the capitalist system and the socialist system and their destiny has received widespread attention from the theoretical circles of the East and the West. The American scholar Francis Fukuyama put forward the so-called "final conclusion". It is considered that "the end of the development of human ideology" and "the last form of human ruling" are liberal democratic system. In the late 20th century, a wave of political transformation almost swept through every corner of the world. People shouted the slogan of the overall victory of liberal democracy and rejoiced the prospect of democratization. This trend of thought has also had an impact on the thinking of college students in China. What reason do we not love in such a country? Is there any reason not to make some contribution to the revival of the country? Students were guided to establish a concept of love the country and love socialist China. In the lectures governing the country according to law, it was pointed out that the comprehensively implementing the rule of law is an import part of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and is the basic strategy for adhering to and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era clarifies the general objectives and implementation steps of comprehensively governing the country according to law. In the new era, college students should understand, follow and apply law, and make unremitting efforts to build a country under the rule of law[3].

From the feedback of the above students, it can be seen that incorporating Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era into the teaching of ideological and political theories in colleges and students meets the needs of students for knowledge and stimulates students’ interest in learning, and the teaching effect is significantly improved.

4 Approaches to the incorporation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics into teaching of ideological and political theories in colleges and universities

At present, with the development of the times, the learning styles and theoretical demands of college students have changed. Ideological and political theory workers in colleges and universities should take the initiative to adapt to these changes. In the teaching, students should be the center, and the ideological and political theory course should become a course that "students really love and benefits for life".

4.1Strengtheningtheoreticalcultivation,andimprovingteachers’ideologicalunderstandingGeneral Secretary Xi Jinping once pointed out that teachers are the engineering of the human soul and bear the scared mission. Therefore, it is necessary to use the new media to effectively integrate Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the teaching of ideological and political theories in colleges and universities, in order to enhance the propagation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in the group of college students, achieve the effect of moistening things silently, combine online and offline education, meet the needs of contemporary college students’ anytime, anywhere and on-demand learning, and innovate the teaching model of ideological and political theory.
