□语篇导读

祝福是全世界的共同语言，而历史最悠久、最传统的祝福方式则是用纸质贺卡进行传递。在人们追逐物质生活的今天，相互间寄发一张贺卡相比单纯于物欲的追求无疑是一种较好形式的精神慰藉和情感交流。

在现代通讯日渐发达的今天，人们使用卡片来庆祝佳节、生日、毕业等，仍不失为一种时尚的交际手段。在各种喜庆的日子，寄上一张精美的贺卡，可以增添生活的色彩，加深人们间的友谊。

贺卡上面一般都印有各种图案,如果在图案下面再亲笔写上你的祝贺用语,既能表达寄卡者的真心诚意,又能使收卡人倍感温馨亲切。

英语贺卡所采用的语言风格依据收卡人而定。如果收卡人是亲朋好友,卡片可采用非正式的格式,语言比较口语化,语气倾向于轻松、幽默；如果是送给老师或长辈,用语和格式都要规范一些,语气也应比较庄重。

□贺卡格式

贺卡一般分为日期、抬头、正文、结尾谦称和签名五个部分,类似一封英文信件。

一、写卡日期

写卡的日期包括年、月、日,位置放在卡的右上角,和中文贺卡日期的位置不一样(中文贺卡的日期放在签名下面)。英语贺卡对日期的要求并不像信件的要求那么严格,有的贺卡可以不写日期。

二、贺卡抬头

抬头是指对收卡人的称呼。它的使用视关系的亲密程度而定,最常见的是“To Mr....”(to也可省略)。 如果是寄给朋友,也可采用“To my best friend”,“To a good friend”等称呼；如果关系亲密,可采用“Dearest...”或“My dearest...”,也可省略抬头称呼。 称呼后面要加逗号。

三、贺卡正文

贺卡的正文在称呼下面。按照书信的正文格式,可以对齐称呼或缩进四个字母另起一至两行写。

四、结尾谦称

结尾谦称与抬头相对应,也因关系的深浅而有所不同,它位于信的结尾的右下端。常见的有Sincerely yours,Yours sincerely等,亲朋好友之间可用 Love,With love,As ever,Affectionately yours等。结尾谦称后面一定要加逗号。

五、贺卡签名

签名在结尾谦称的下面,对齐结尾谦称的第一个字母或在结尾谦称偏右处。签名前后不加尊称或头衔之类的词。

□贺卡种类

一、圣诞节和新年贺卡(Christmas and New Year's Cards)

圣诞节与新年的贺卡大致可以分为三类：一类是寄给长辈,像父母、叔婶、舅舅、姨娘等；另一类是寄给老师、师傅、领导等；还有一类是赠同辈的兄弟姐妹,亲朋好友。例如：

1.致父母

Dear Mom and Dad,

I will be home,of course,for New Year's Day.But I want to wish you a special New Year's wish.Rich blessings for health and longevity are my wish for you in the coming year.By the way,I miss Mom's spring roll very much!

2.致老师

Dear Mr.Wu,

I'm not your best student,but you are my most admirable teacher.On this special holiday,I,a student of yours,wish you youth forever and much joy to you in the upcoming year.

二、母亲节和父亲节贺卡 (Mother's Day and Father's Day Cards)

五月的第二个星期日是母亲节,六月的第三个星期日是父亲节,为庆祝这两个节日,人们在这两天会与父母亲欢聚一堂,并向他们赠送贺卡或礼物,以感谢他们多年来的辛勤操劳。有的孩子还在这两天包揽家务,好让父母亲好好享受一下这个属于他们自己的节日。例如：

1.致母亲

Dear Mom,

I look back on all of my years and consider myself lucky because I have you as Mom.Thank you for helping me through the tough times.

四、生日贺卡(Birthday Cards)

在西方国家,每逢某人生日,家人常常为他(她)举办生日聚会,邀请亲朋好友参加,受邀的人总是忘不了赠送贺卡以示庆贺。生日贺卡一般上面都有印好的图案、贺词和岁数,如在已有的贺词下面再亲笔写上几句祝福的话,会给人以亲切、郑重的感觉。例如：

无论是中学毕业,还是大学毕业,都是人生重要的里程碑。西方国家对毕业非常重视,学校举行专门的毕业典礼,往往毕业生的父母也被邀请参加。毕业贺卡一般都是恭贺毕业或预祝未来成功的内容,也有人借此写上几句话来消除彼此间已有的误会。例如：

Please accept my heartiest congratulations on your graduation from high school.I feel sure your parents must be specially proud of you,for you have finished high school with such a brilliant scholastic record.
