教学过程

Step 1:Pre-reading

1.Greetings and free-talk

Hello,boys and girls!I’m your English teacher today.Nice to meet you.You can call me MissZhou.Iwantto know something about you.What’s your name?When is your birthday?And when is your mother’s/father’s birthday?

设计意图:由于教师是借班上课,在一开始通过简单的交流,拉近师生的距离,同时也复习了前两课时关于序数词的知识,为后面的学习做好铺垫。

2.Warm-up and lead-in

(1)brain storm

T:Here are the 26 English letters.Which is the first/seventh/fifteenth/twenty-third?(学生看图抢答)

设计意图:通过快速反应找出26个英文字母的位置,答对后,全班一起从第一个开始用英语数。通过快节奏反应进一步巩固了学生序数词的英文表达,同时激发了其学习兴趣。

(2)Watch a short video:

T:Let’s watch a short video:“The kittens growing”

T:What animals do you see?Can you remember?

T:We can see the cats,we call the baby cat kitten.Kittens will grow up into cats.Today,our topic is about growing.See how they grow.

设计意图:通过看小猫从出生到成长的过程,一方面激发了学生学习英语的兴趣,一方面让学生对小猫成长过程有一定的了解,并为学习本课内容做好铺垫,在一定程度上帮助学生理解文章。

Step 2:While-reading

1.Lead-in

T:Sarah likes animals very much.She has a cat.The cat has two babies.How do we call baby cats?

T:Sarah likes kitten very much.So she keeps diaries about them.

2.About dairy

Show the diary and read the dates.

T:These are Sarah’s diaries.There are four days,so can you read the dates?

3.Task1:Read the text quickly and choose the photo for every diary.

T:AndSarah often takes photos.For every dairy,there is photo.Can you arrange them?

设计意图:通过快速阅读Sarah的四篇日记,并给出相应的简单任务,让学生对全篇日记有大概了解。

4.While-reading

(1)The firstdiary(Listen and say)

T:Look at the first photo.What’s the date?

T:OnApril15th,what colour are they?Can they see?Let’s listen together.

设计意图:通过“听”引导学生找出小猫成长的关键词,检测学生对课文的理解程度以及培养其从文中获取信息的能力。

(2) The second/third/fourth diary

The second diary:

T:After some days,they grow up,so how old are the kittens on April 21st?

T:What do they do when they’re hungry?(播放猫叫的吵闹声,帮助学生理解生词make noises)

T:What are they like?(解释fur,并稍作实例解释)

设计意图:通过问答找出关于小猫成长的关键词句,既调动学生的思维,又很轻巧地解决了文中的难点。

(3)The third diary

Listen and follow(这一部分内容较简单,所以由学生听音跟读,自己体会)

(4)The fourth diary

Listen and fill in the blanks.

T:Time flies,the kittens are growingand growing,whatcan they do now?Please listen and fill in the blanks.

Eg:The kittenscan walk now.They can play with Robin.

设计意图:通过“听”,让学生完成短篇填空,可以轻松检测学生听的效果。

(5)Read and act

T:Let’s read the diaries after the tape.

T:Please read it by yourself.

设计意图:在学生理解文本内容后,让他们听录音跟读,并注意语音、语调和语速,这样有利于培养学生良好的发音习惯。之后让学生自由地读一读故事,选择一则日记声情并茂地在全班展示朗读,教师适当对学生的语音、语调进行指导,激发了学生的阅读兴趣。

Step 3:Post-reading

1.Writing task

T:Imagine today is October 15th,so how old are the kittens?

T:Yes,so what are they like and what can they do?Try to imagine and write a diary for today.

2.Show your diary

设计意图:让学生想象六个月后小猫的成长变化,教师给出图片提示,开拓学生的思维、发展想象能力并学着写日记。实现语言学习由输入到输出,学生既巩固了所学内容,又提升了写的能力。
