However, learning English new words is an important but difficult task for learners. Most of us have trouble in learning it well since it is different from our native language. Whats more, we find it is easy to forget and we cant keep words and expressions in mind for a long time, not to mention their stresses and various different meanings. Though weve already learned some new words and phrases at other times, we are still troubled by their vague meanings when we encounter them in test papers, and its difficulty for us to guess their meanings and choose the best answers or fill into proper blanks.

A great scientist Albert Einstein said: Interest is the best teacher. I am very interested in English songs, and I coincidentally find listening to English songs is a good way to learn English. In my spare time, I Listento English songs every day and I have kept such a habit for several years.Being a senior high school student, I spend most of my time in studying my subjects and doing lots of exercises. It seems that theres no time left for me to entertain. No!ActuallyI can make full use of my spare time.It spends me about 20 minutes from school to home by car and its music time.On my way, I always listen to English songs and try to remember the lyrics as clearly as I can.Bearing these lyric words in mind is a slow process, which begins with difficulty but becomes easy gradually. And I can train my ability of memory and cultivate my English language sense.Little by little and day by day, I find I have improved a lot because I can remember a new songs lyric totally and completely just after listening to it 3 times carefully. Recently, Ive tried to write down several English songs lyrics even before their official oneswerereleased. How proud I am!

Now I will be pleased to share my way on how to remember new words and expressions by listening to English songs. Firstly, I focus on the vocals while listening and tryto recognize every word and every sentence of the song. Secondly, I try to compare what we have got during our listening with the official lyrics, and consult the unfamiliar or uncertain words and sentences in my dictionary, which can make a deep impression in our mind so that I can remember words and sentences easily. And thirdly, I review new words and expressions whenever I sing the song, and by doing that I can remember them for a long time.

In all, listening to English songs is interesting and effective way to learn English which can combine learning with entertainment. On one hand, we can enjoy our good habit and get relaxed during heavy workload; on the other hand, we can improve our study and help us to get high marks. Why not try?
