“Chinese Premier Li Keqiang chaired a symposium at the UN headquarters on September 19 entitled： ‘Sustainable Development Goals： A Universal Push to Transform Our World – Chinas Perspective. At the meeting he announced the release of Chinas national plan for the implementation of the ‘2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.The plan is the first of its kind in the world to specify various domains and goal-oriented concrete measures. As the guidelines for Chinas implementation of the 2030 Agenda， it illustrates our resolve to honor our pledges to the world and shoulder our responsibilities as a major country.”

An extract from the article by the Chinese Ambassador to Mexico， Qiu Xiaoqi， published in the Mexican newspaper El Financiero on October 28， entitled “China Releases the First National Plan for Implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.”

“When it was itself a poor country 51 years ago， China still assisted Mauritania in its development. China began to offer aid to Africa well before other countries showed interest. Today the Chinese economy is facing the challenge of slower growth and as many as 70 million Chinese still live below the poverty line. We are， however， as committed to helping Mauritania in all aspects of its development as in the past 51 years. And Mauritania has been standing foursquare behind us on political issues. Chinas aid is not motivated by selfish interest. Instead we regard Mauritania as a brother and a sincere friend.”

The Chinese Ambassador to Mauritania Wu Dong made this comment in a speech he gave on October 23 at the inauguration of an agricultural technology training course at the Agricultural Technology Demonstration Center， which was built with the help of Chinese aid.
