As is known to us， every country has its symbols. Now， lets see some symbols of India.

众所周知，每个国家都有自己的象征。现在让我们来看一看印度的一些象征。

1. National Animal：

The national animal of India is the tiger. The tiger is called the king of the forest. In India， there are a lot of tigers.

国兽：印度的国兽是老虎。老虎被称之为森林之王。在印度有很多老虎。

2. National Bird：

The national bird of India is the peacock2. Peacocks are often used in India stories.

国鸟：印度的国鸟是孔雀。印度的故事中经常有孔雀出现。

3. National Flower：

The national flower of India is the lotus3. The lotus is a symbol of success. Even though the lotus grows in mud4， it grows unsullied5 from mud.

国花：印度的国花是荷花。荷花是成功的象征。尽管荷花生长在泥土里，但它出淤泥而不染。

The national tree of India is the banyan6 tree. The life of the banyan tree is very long. The banyan tree is very big. Even today， people often have meetings under it.

The national fruit of India is the mango7. There are more than 100 kinds of mangoes in India. They are in different colors and sizes.

The national sport of India is hockey8. Hockey has been played in India for a long time. It is very popular.
