On August 4th， the 100 millionth HP laptop rolled off the line in Chongqing production base. It stands for a major achievement of HP strategy in West China and is the milestone in the development history of Chongqing's electronic and information industry. A large number of products from Chongqing HP production base are exported to Europe， thus driving the opening of Chongqing-Sinkiang-Europe International Railway. The global settlement center of HP setting up in Chongqing accelerates the building of Chongqing as an important functional fi nancial center featuring fi nancial settlement.

Global Service Center of Singapore APL Logistics sets up in Jiangbeizui CBD

On July 18th， Chongqing Jiangbei government signed up with Singapore APL Logistics （China） Ltd.， agreeing to set up the Global Service Center in Jiangbeizui， which means the China-Singapore （Chongqing） Demonstration Initiative on Connectivity is making new progress in terms of information communication， transportation and logistics. APL Logistics is one of the major logistics service providers in China and international trade.

From January to July， production and sales volume of shale gas in Fuling sees substantial growth. Accumulated production reaches 3054 million m3， a year-on-year increase of 161.47% and sales volume reaches 2931 million m3， a year-on-year increase of 161.46%. The largest food trading center in southwest China opens in Hua'nancheng， Chongqing

On July 28th， International Food Exhibition Trade Center opens in China South City at Chongqing Highway Logistics Base. China South City is a key construction project of Chongqing， a leading company at Chongqing Highway Logistics Base and also the largest business logistics center in southwest China with a total investment of over 20 billion Yuan. China South City， an integration of large professional markets， e-commerce and logistics， will fuel the upgrading of Chongqing's specialized market.

Singapore ranks third in cross-border RMB settlement volume in the fi rst half of the year

Actual volume of cross-border RMB settlement between Chongqing and Singapore in the fi rst half of this year reaches 5.05 billion Yuan， which accounts for 9.4% of the total volume of Chongqing， 2.8% higher than the previous year. Currently， Singapore ranks third after Hong Kong and Taiwan in terms of cross-border RMB settlement of Chongqing.

French artist holds solo exhibition， representing lacquer art of Chongqing

On July 31st， “Love Letters to Chongqing by a French Artist” exhibition opened in Banan District of Chongqing， showing tens of pieces of lacquer painting works created by French artist Wensen Qi （formerly known as Vincent Cazenuve） at his workshop in Chongqing. His works are all about abstract images. Raw lacquer from Chengkou County， grass cloth from Rongchang County， wood and bamboo can all be used as materials. The works of Wensen Qi have been displayed all around the world and many solo exhibitions have been held in China and France.

Customized Lifan cabs exported to Ethiopia

On August 1st， the cabs customized for Ethiopia by Lifan Group rolled off the production line. It's anticipated that nearly 1000 “Lifan 530” cabs will be put into use in Addis Ababa， the capital of Ethiopia. It is the first batch of cabs of Ethiopia equipped with a complete billing system including taximeter， intercom and top lights. The cabs are all up to Euro 4 discharge standard.

One of the fi rst inland provincial regions listed in “One-stop Window” pilot project

On August 2nd， “ Kick-off Ceremony of ‘One-stop Window' Pilot Project in Interior Border Regions” was held by National Office of Port Administration in Chongqing， designating six provincial regions including Chongqing as the fi rst batch of pilot areas， which means new opportunities for the opening up of Chongqing. “One-stop Window” refers to platforms through which standardized information and documents are submitted by parties participating in international trade and transport. It is an important universal instrument for the facilitation of international trade.

Hundred academicians and experts brainstorm for innovative development of fi ve functional areas

From July 27thto August 8th， “Academicians and Experts Visiting Five Functional Areas” activities were held in Yubei， Shapingba， Nanchuan， Qianjiang and Wanzhou Districts. 94 academicians and experts from home and abroad joint together to discuss changes happening and possible cooperation and also offered valuable suggestions for the development of these areas. A penal discussion was also held between them.

Build Chongqing Cosmopolis， the Three Georges and Wuling into three major tourist destinations

On August 11st， the 137thexecutive meeting was held by the municipal government， which examined and passed the Thirteenth Five-Year Plan on Building World Famous Tourism Destinations in Chongqing. It is proposed to foster tourism into the comprehensive strategic pillar industry of Chongqing and basically build Chongqing into a national central tourist city by 2020. In the future five years， the focus is to build Chongqing Cosmopolis， the Three Georges and Wuling into three major tourist destinations and develop distinctively-themed boutique tourist routes as per the development strategies of fi ve functional regions.

"Made in Chongqing" Will Launch in Africa

Department of Commerce and Chongqing municipal government will hold the 2016 China Commodity and Equipment Manufacturing Exhibition in Senegal and 2016 （Africa） Exporting Products Exhibition in Chongqing. The exhibitions will represent development outcomes of China and Chongqing to improve the markets for Chongqing and Chinese manufactory. The exhibitions have attract Chongqing Automobiles， Chongqing Motorcycles， general gasoline engine， and agricultural machinery to attend till August 12th.
