From 27 to 29 April 2016, the 14th International Conference on Surfactant & Detergent (hereafter referred to as ICSD 2016) was held in Shanghai Guoman Hotel,China. The conference was sponsored by China Cleaning Industry Association (CCIA) and China Research Institute of Daily Chemical Industry (RIDCI), and

organized by China Information Center of Daily Chemical Industry, China National Productivity Promotion Center of Surfactant and Detergent,and China National Cleaning Products Quality Supervision and Testing Center. The coorganizers are as follows: Surfactant Committee of CCIA, Science & Technology Committee of CCIA,China National Engineering Research Center for Surfactant, China National Standardization Committee of Surfactant and Detergent, and Sinolight Surfactants Technology Co., Ltd.. In addition, the following enterprises provided sponsorship for the event, including Guangzhou Bluemoon Industrial Co., Ltd., Tianjin Haoyuan Chemical Co., Ltd., Jala Group, Guangzhou Lonkey Industrial Co., Ltd. and Beijing LvSan Chemistry Co., Ltd..

On-site ICSD 2016 Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony was held on April 28th. Mrs.Wuhong Zheng, the general director of CCIA, addressed her opening speech, “China has been a dominant power in fields of surfactant and detergent in terms of production and consumption with an increasing number of marketing share around the whole world. Under the implementation of the “One Belt and One Road” strategy advocated by Chinese government, China’s daily chemical industry will fully integrate into the global market at a fast speed, being one of the most active industry.”

Mr. Wanxu Wang, the president of RIDCI, gave the welcoming speech in the ceremony. In his speech, he noted that born in 1990, the International Conference on Surfactant & Detergent has attracted more than 6,000 registrations, 1,000 companies from 50 countries and regions and received over 1,000 academic papers submissions. He also said,“ ICSD has been played a important role as a communicative bridge beteween China and the world, and a large platform for exchange and coopration in this field.”

The theme of ICSD 2016 was“Superiority, Prospect, Opportunity,Development”, it brought together over 300 delegates from 14 countries. There were totally 23 presentations during four sessions, including two keynote sessions, one Basic Research session and one Industrial Application session. At the same time, More than 40 excellent academic papers were presented as posters at the meeting.

Some conference presentations were as follows: A Review of Detergent Industry Development Situation at Home and Abroad by Mr. Huatao Zhang, the general secretary of CCIA; Reviews and Prospects on Surfactants in China by Mr. Yongqiang Sun, vice president of RIDCI; Ionic Liquid Microemulsions and Surface Active Ionic Liquids by Professor Liqiang Zheng from Shandong University; the Room for Improvement of Industrial Sulfonation of Alkylbenzene by Mr.Arkadiusz Chruściel, manager from MEXEO Technology Company,Poland; Applications of Surfactants in Textile Finishing by Dr. Tarek Salem, researcher from Egyptian National Research Center; Biosurfactants QSAR Analysis and Biological Assessment in Vitro by Mr.Shujun Cheng, director of Technical Center, Guangdong Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau; Brief Introductions on Standardization System and Future Development of Surfactant and Detergent in China by Mr. Chenzhi Yao, general secretary of China National Standardization Committee of Surfactant and Detergent,and so forth.

ICSD 2016 provided a platform for information exchange and cooperation for insiders, reflected the developing trend of daily chemical industry of the whole world and displayed the latest results of technology progress in this field. On Aril 29th, President Wang made a comprehensive conclusion in the closing speech. He said, “in the future, ICSD will bring innovative ideas into the preparation work of the following conferences,exploring new potential in matter of conference forms and contents, trying to meet higher requirements for academic exchange, technology progress and industrial development, developing ICSD as a world famous and professional conference in daily chemical industry.”

Meanwhile, the 2016 International Exhibition on Surfactant & Detergent was held in Shanghai Convention & Exhibition Center of International Sourcing. It was hosted by RIDCI and China National Productivity Promotion Center of Surfactant and Detergent, organized by China Information Center of Daily Chemical Industry and Shanghai Yihan Exhibition Service Company. According to general statistics,there were more than 100 exhibitors from 12 countries and 10,000 professional registration visitors from 30 countries.
