[摘 要]帕菲特的道德哲学是在规范并分析“理由”和“合理性”概念的基础上展开的，其理论“大厦”是在“理由”和“合理性”基石上建立起来的。帕菲特认为，人是宇宙唯一的能够回应理由的理性存在。我们应该接受某些基于价值的、客观的理论，行为的理由从那些给予我们理由去拥有欲望或目标的事实中获取力量。实践合理性与认识论的合理性的关键区分，在于对实践理由的自发回应和对认识论的理由的非自发回应。

Abstract： Parfits moral philosophy is based on the specification and analysis of the concept of “reason” and “rationality” as the cornerstone of his theory “building”. Parfit believes that we are the animals that can both understand and respond to reasons. We ought to accept some value-based， objective theory. On these theories， reasons for acting all derive their force from the facts that give us reasons to have certain desires and aims. The deep distinction between practical and epistemic rationality is that， the voluntary acts with which we respond to practical reasons， and our non-voluntary responses to epistemic reasons.

我国道德哲学界或伦理学界至今缺乏对德里克·帕菲特（Derek Parfit）的关注和研究，缺乏对其著作进行“文本的深度耕犁”，这不能不说是学界憾事之一。帕菲特（1942—）是英国当代著名哲学家，也是我们这个时代的领先的伦理学家之一，现为英国牛津大学万灵学院（All Souls College， Oxford）退休名誉高级研究员，也是英国研究院（British Academy）和美国艺术和科学院（American Academy of Arts and Sciences）的高级研究员。由于他在个人同一性①理论、对后代的关心，以及道德理论结构的分析方面的开创性贡献被授予2014年度逻辑和哲学Rolf Schock奖。帕菲特属于分析哲学学派。最具代表性的著作是《理与人》（Reasons and Persons）《论什么重要》（On What Matters）。在西方哲学领域，特别是当代西方伦理学领域，帕菲特的地位和影响并不亚于麦金太尔、西季威克等，甚至有人把他与康德相提并论。

《理与人》在元伦理学和应用伦理学领域都有重要地位，当代西方特别是英美大学，把此书与麦金太尔的书一同作为当代伦理学课程的必读书。……
