Logistics restricts the cross—border e—commerce

Cross-border e-commerce also is known as the cross-border trade. It involves different countries or region through the Internet platform to carry out commerce or trade. The import and export business operations mainly belong to different country by the Internet trading platform, and need cross-border logistics for the transportation of goods. In one word it is a form of international business activities. Many Chinese cross-border electrical companies, third party logistics and warehousing company are involved in the overseas business. Through self-built or rental oversea warehouse, many logistics companies provide cross-border storage, package, international express delivery, order management and excellent after-sales service. But cross-border logistics develop on the current cross-border electricity business. There are some problems to be solved in cross-border logistics.

1 the defects of cross-border logistics

Because of the complexity and transnational characteristics, Cross-border logistics enterprises are put forward to more and more professional requirements. The third party logistics enterprises only provide logistics service for cross-border e-commerce enterprises, which are in addition to the supplier and the buyer, and does not have the product. As supply chain professional actors, they should be able to provide more professional logistics service. Only the main participants and professional participants work together to get to minimize the risk of supply chain, to achieve “win-win”. However, our country third party logistics enterprises have a small scale, are weak, and provide poor quality of service. Electric business enterprises lack of trust on the cooperation in reality.

At the same time, it is not enough to understand the importance of logistics in e-commerce environment for logistics professionals. For most of the services provided by logistics enterprises, logistics is still on the traditional circulation way.

Cross-border e-commerce logistics need to operate cross-border logistics network construction, and also need to consider a series of costs about the cross-border goods, customs, commodity inspection, cross-border delivery, and so on. For example, we spend 100 RMB above on transporting the 500g goods to the United States by FedEx, UPS or China posts EMS. The postal parcel is relatively cheap but we bear longer time. So except of product value, the other cost is relatively higher.

2 Demand on cross-border logistics

Chinese cross-border electrical transaction goods mainly involve low price of consumer goods. The cross-border business model has B2C and C2C. Demand on logistics services dues to economical cross-national ordinary parcel. The value of goods, the ability of freight bear and the requirements of delivery time are relatively low. Enterprises or the sellers usually deliver directly to individual buyers through mail.

High value or luxury goods are delivered priority to with B2C. And corresponding logistics services is used priority to with air express. It is strong to bear ability of freight in the High order value order(usually individual sellers are difficult to intervene in the field).

3 Suggestion to improve the logistic effectiveness

3.1 Logistics enterprises to build overseas warehouse

If sellers need mass transport the goods to the target market countries, they need to build or rent overseas warehouse. Then according to the local sales orders they deliver goods from the warehouse. First of all, the warehouse will be large of goods transported overseas target markets. So they gain scale economy, and make the logistics cost greatly reduced. Overseas warehouse becomes cross-border logistics into domestic logistics and make cross-border e-commerce transaction cycle shorten. And it effectively deals with the problem of return. For example, alibabas rookie logistics is to facilitate the construction of overseas warehouse in order to overcome the defects of the cross-border logistics. Overseas warehouse having many advantages often makes cost higher. And third-party logistics enterprises should establish overseas large-scale warehouse.

3.2 Logistics enterprises become bigger and stronger by mergence

In order to reduce services cost, the cross-border logistics enterprises need to integrate logistics resources. They are committed to form a diversified ownership, network service and modern comprehensive logistics enterprise management. The modern logistics enterprises grow firstly up on technical level. It is prominent characteristics and core competitive advantage. They need to enhance the level of logistics enterprise operating scale by aliening manufacturing, trade, e-commerce and other fields and strengthening international specialization and social service ability. They aim at becoming the modern logistics enterprise group. Through the scale management, modern logistics enterprise gradually set up the formation of modern logistics service system.
