- Passage 4 -

A man tried to catch monkeys to sell them to zoos. The monkeys, however, were very c 1 and every kind of trap (计谋) that he set failed.

A young boy watched the mans efforts and then took a pot with a narrow (狭窄的) neck. He placed a few peanuts around the pot and put lots of peanuts i 2 it. He then tied the pot to a tree and he told the man, “We should have a m 3 in a few hours.”

Some monkeys soon discovered the peanuts and the pot. One put his hand into the pot e 4 and got a handful of peanuts, but he couldnt p 5 his hand with peanuts out of the narrow opening of the pot. Thirty years ago, I walked into your bakery and asked for some loaves (条) of bread to s 1 . At that time, I was 12 years old. A young lady was working that day. She gave me five loaves and wished me good l 2 .

My teachers thought I was the worst student. My family also had the s 1 thought as my teachers.

When I was going to give up my studying, a new teacher, Miss White came to our school. She was young, b 2 and knowledgeable (知识渊博的). One day, I was sitting alone in my c 3 , Miss White came up to me and talked to me happily. Soon her smile away my unhappiness.
