新生周？什么是新生周？

Freshers Week is the term that UK universities and colleges give to the period immediately before the beginning of a new academic year.

Its purpose is to give new students a chance to meet their housemates， make new friends and sort out administration tasks such as opening student bank accounts. Freshers week is usually based around a series of social events such as discos， live bands， parties…and a Freshers Week Ball.

As well as providing a chance to learn about the university， Freshers Week allows students to become familiar with the representatives of their Student Union and to get to know the city or town which is home to the university， often through some form of pub crawl.

新生周是指英国的大学和学院开学前的第一个星期。

新生周给新生机会去认识室友，交新朋友，完成诸如开银行账户之类的一些行政相关事宜。新生周内通常会举办一系列的社交活动，比如舞厅舞会、乐队现场演奏、聚会等，还有专门的“新生周舞会”。

新生周也为学生提供一个了解自己的大学和学生会代表的机会，借此机会他们也会通过泡吧等方式对自己大学所在的城市了解更多。
