Zoological Research

Starting in 2014, Zoological Research will be publishing scientific articles exclusively in English. While we are proud to have hosted so many contributions to Chinese science since we first began publishing in 1980, we believe that moving to an exclusively English-language journal will help spread your research to a truly global audience. We hope that this new change will bring together the best features of a new,high-growth journal with those a time-tested and respected academic periodical.

Given our strong track record—in 2012 Zoological Research was ranked 8 out of 175 Excellent International Impact Academic Journals in Science/Technology/Medicine—we are confident that your English-language submissions will be well received both in China and abroad. We are especially interested in papers focusing on our key areas: Molecular and Cell Biology, DNA Barcoding, Developmental Biology,Physiology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Pathology, Neuroscience, Genetics, the Animal Ecology and Ethology, and especially Animal Models of Human Diseases.

To help smooth the transition into English, we are happy to announce that an in-house American editor at the Kunming Institute of Zoology will be editing all submissions selected for publications, ensuring that your research and ideas come across clearly to an international audience. Our journal also offers a smooth publication cycle with open-access where PDFs of accepted articles immediately e-published ahead of printed versions.

Sponsored by the Kunming Institute of Zoology (CAS) and the China Zoological Society, Zoological Research has continually been reported by many influential national and international indexes including, but not limited to:PubMed/MEDLINE, Ulrich's International Periodicals Directory, Biological Abstracts, Zoological Records, Chemical Abstracts, Abstract of Entomology, Pж(AJ), Bioline International, ProQuest, Centre for Agriculture and Bioscience International (CABI), JST ( Japan Science & Technology Agency, JST's Bibliographic Databases), Chinese Biology Abstracts, Chinese Science Citation Database. Moreover, the journal has been exchanged globally with other publications from 75 institutions in 23 countries, giving an international audience to our authors’ research.
