一般而言，冠词和名词词组连用，冠词通常放在名词词组前面，而本文仅归纳不定冠词和定冠词与名词词组连用时出现倒置的现象，以期对各位同学学习有所帮助。

一、不定冠词倒置

1．名词词组里如果有many, such, what, half等修饰时，不定冠词要放在这些词的后面。例如： Many a boy is playing baseball.许多男孩在打棒球。

He is such a nice man.他是如此好的人。

What a good film it is!这是多好一部电影啊！

Half a month has passed soon.半个月很快过去了。

2．形容词前有as, so, too, how, however, enough等修饰时，不定冠词a或an必须置于形容词之后，名词之前。如：

He is as great a man as ever lived.他像世上任何一位伟人一样伟大。

She is not so big a fool as you think.她并不像你想象的那样蠢。

This is too difficult a problem for him.这个问题对他来说太难了。

How brave a man you are!你真勇敢啊！

However difficult a job it is, he can finish it smoothly.不管多艰难的工作，他都能顺利地做完。He is old enough a man to be my father.他年纪大得可以做我父亲了。

3．在形容词比较句中，位于形容词之后。如：

This is more complex an idea than the others he has presented.这个观点比他提出的其他观点都要复杂。

This is more difficult a problem than the others we discussed just now.这个问题比我们刚讨论的问题更难。

4．副词quite, rather与不定冠词a或an连用，不定冠词置于quite, rather之后用于强调。但若名词前有形容词时，不定冠词a, an可置于quite, rather之前。例如：

He is quite a man.他的确是个男子汉。

He is rather a fool.他是个十足的傻瓜。

Its rather a difficult job.还可改为：Its a rather difficult job.这是一份相当难做的工作。

This is quite a sudden change.还可改为：This is a quite sudden change.这一变化相当突然。

5．在as, though引导的倒装让步状语从中，用作表语的名词前有形容词修饰时，不定冠词应放在形容词之后。如：

Young a man as he is, he is fit for this job.尽管他是个年青人，他胜任这项工作。

Poor a woman though she is, her life is happy.尽管她穷，但生活很幸福。

二、定冠词倒置

1．定冠词通常放在twice, three times, two thirds等表示倍数的词或分数之后。如：

This room is twice the size of that one.这个房间是那个房间的两倍大。

This building is three times the height of that one.这个大楼是那个大楼的三倍高。

This book is two-thirds the thickness of a dictionary.这本书是一本字典的2/3厚度。

2．名词词组里如果有exactly, just, half, double, all, both等修饰时，定冠词要放在这些词之后。如：

The two shirts are exactly the same color.这两件衬衫颜色相同。

This is just the right place where he was born.他出生在就是这个地方。

Half the oranges in the box were rotten.这箱子里的橙子一半已烂掉了。

I gave her double the usual quantity to satisfy her needs.我给她比通常多一倍的量来满足她的要求。

All the students do not pass the exam.并非所有的学生考试及格。

Both the dictionaries are expensive.两本字典都贵。
