Do you notice the strange fact that in our country, which is growing more and more developed, there are more and more near-sighted students?

Decades of years ago, people looked on those who were near-sighted as strangers. In recent years, however, those who are not near-sighted are regarded as strangers.

What leads to so many near-sighted students? Theres no easy answer.

First, it lies in the high-tech machines, such as computers, color TV sets. In the spare time, some students will seat themselves at a computer or before a TV set for a long time even without a move. Second, in order to get a good position in the severe competing society, we senior students have to prepare ourselves for entrance examinations. Consequently, we spend most of our time burying ourselves in various of exercises. As a result, our eyes couldnt get proper rest. Third, many of us have formed a bad habit of using eyes. For instance, you may see students reading while walking, eating or lying. Also, many like reading in the sun or by a weak light.

By and by, we are not able to see the blackboard clearly as before. The things and beings in the distance become vague.

Gradually, we find it is not easy to live a normal life. Not only can we mistake someone but we will fail to pass the entrance examination to colleges.

In a word, it is important to protect us from becoming near-sighted. One available way is to do eye exercises now and then. In addition, nourishment like eggs and beancurd is necessary. At last, I hope all people, especially we students will use eyes healthily. After all, the eyes are the windows of our minds.
