During the first 10 years of 21st century,there were many fantasy novels that were popular all over the world.I thinkThe Lord of the Ringsis one of the best.

The Lord of the Ringswas written by J.R.R.Tolkien,who was called the ancestor of the modern fantasy novel.It took him 12 years to write and 4 years to modify.The whole story talks about the adventure of Frodo and how he destroyed the ring to save the Middle Earth.

After reading the book,the reader should understand one point that this book isn’t just a fantasy work of Tolkien,but a work seeking truth.The leading character of the book,Frodo,is actually not a powerful,brave hero,even isn’t a tall man.He’s just a short,peace-loving Hobbit,who never goes out of his hometown.So why did he make the choice of going outside and saving the people who may never hear about him? All in all,for the sense of duty.

The writing background of the story was the Second World War.The tragic world war was the creative source of Tolkien.He wanted to remind people of responsibility and peace.While some greedy people always wanted to invade others,brave men always stood out and fought for justice.Whatever the result,keep fighting against the terrible situation we have to face,never back away,which is the most important.From Gandolf to Frodo,they all tried their best to fight and let’s see what they did:Succeed.

So that’s why theLord of the Ringswas great.It teaches people the truth and benefits each reader.I recommend this film to you.
